Subject:Plug in, help if you know!

Hi,

I just got an Acid Pro from a friend, but there's no plug in. When I tried to import loops it asked to register Plug-in 2.0. I did the process and it gave a .reg file which did not work, I think it generated that file according to the computer ID and mine is not in the data base. If anyone know how to get the plug-in, please help me out, I can do nothing without it! Thanks in advance!

Getting Acid off your friend isn't an authorized method of purchase. That's why SF won't issue you anything. You need to purchase Acid and register your copy with Sonic Foundry to get the full benefits.
Don't plan on getting much help here either if you don't.

What's the matter with you people? Don't you know you're not supposed to share software? I know everybody knows this without even reading the Software Aggreement.
It upsets the people who are buying the software leagally. You can't get software from a friend, You have to Buy it. And if you do get it this way, you cannot get any support for it either.

OK, thanks for the explaination! Now I know that getting a software from a friend is illegal!

Let it be known that you can transfer a license to another person BUT FIRST the original owner of the license has to contact Sonic Foundry to obtain permission to do so (as well as get a new serial for the new owner) AND THEN everything (and I do mean everything) has to be given to the recipient—original, backup, manuals, etc.

I did this fairly recently for a relative. Once I bought ACID Pro 3 I went through the proper legal channels at Sonic Foundry and then gave him ACID Pro 2 (which was just sitting around collecting dust).

However, if a person gave you a copy of ACID and kept the original (or vice versa) for himself or herself then that is illegal. It's called casual copying. I believe it does more damage domestically here in the U.S. than pirating does.

Thanks mD for the information! I actually paid my friend for that software (original, NOT a copy), he bought it but didn't like it much and decided to let it go, so here I am with the software! I'll try to do as what you've explained, hope it'll work!

Thanks

The person who originally registered the software will need to contact Sonic Foundry to get permmision to transfer the usage rights to another party. Once that is done the original owner will not be entitled to support, future upgrades or continued use of the product.

that shouldn't be any problem, cause he won't use it anymore anyway. So thanks again for the put in!
