Subject:recording in acid 2.0

i was able to record in acid 2.0, but it has failed on my system and i get sound from my cd-rom and windows but now i cannot record but in 2.0; furthurmore, the reason i need to record from the mic is for vocals. instead i get a recording of the previously laid tracks that i'm trying to lay vocals to. so i think it seems that i need to know which devices to have selected in the volume control to make the desired function work properly. right?

In the volume control panel, click on Options, Properties, and select Recording. Make sure the Mic input is the one selected.
