That's all it does. Great. I get to the splash screen and then it 'generates errors' and I get thrown out. What gives? |

What are the specs on the computer? I've had no problems running it on Win2K whatsoever... |

Maybe it's my Soundblaster, sharing IRQ 9 with NIC. Can't manually change it in W2K IRQ sharing should be ok, I guess .. |

I had the exact same problem in XP Professional and I have the same sound card as you do. All I did was put it in compatibility mode for Windows 98 / ME and all my errors disappeared and it never locked up. I used to have Windows 2000 and I think there are compatibility layers in the properties of all shortcuts like in XP. I hope this works for you. |

In Win2000 if you have more devices than available IRQs, the operating system will place all add on devices on IRQ 9 and invoke IRQ sharing. I have about 10 devices "on IRQ 9" all hardware and all software work correctly. Moving the sound card to an different PCI slot will probably not change the IRQ but it could possibly correct the problem. I have seen systems that would not even boot until the video card was placed in a different PCI slot. Have you checked for updated drivers? Inspector Gadget aka Steve Bergner |
