how can i get this SMART AND FRIENDLY CD_RW 6424a to work with other burning programs?

how come Acid 3.0 can burn it full speed but its not even detected in other burning programs??

it doesn't need a driver so...
anything i do to check this out??

What other programs can you not get the Smart and Friendly to be recognized in?

Try updating the firmware? (Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter. If you don't, you risk ruining your drive.)

Did the drive come with software? If so, did you install it? This software may include various drivers needed by Windows to allow other programs to recognize it. Apparently ACID didn't need any help, but other software may.

hey guys,
i was told the burner did not need a driver.
today i got an error i've never seen before,
it states the media might be corrupte or itn't good but thats not true.
i've been using these cd's forever without a problem.
now it won't let me burn 2 tracks in a row without give me this error.

Have you tried updating the burning software? Can Windows see the drive?
