Ok, it's probably something horribly stupid as this is the first time I've tried recording on my PC

PC win98 - old - slow - etc (hey I'm still learning this stuff. . .

But the problem I am having is that when I go to record I get this error.

"SPDIF recording doesn't work. Please check to see if you attached the SPDIF device to your CM8338 card properly then try again."

All I'm doing is takeing the headphone out of my Korg drum maching (1/4 inch) converting the cord to (1/8 inch) and then running it into the mic line of the computer. I have everything unmuted and the cords are good. In the computers audio out I get a high freq rythmic static when ever the drummachine cable is plugged into the mic in on the computer wether the drum machine is playing or paused.

Any ideas?

peace
