Subject:Can't Record with Audigy

I run acid3 under an AMD1800 Win 2k Audigy sound card and directx 8.1.

I can record from the mic input, but when I switch to line in I get a warning
like " sound format not supported "

I tried messing up with the settings but It does not change anything even selecting
"microsoft sound mapping" as the input driver.

Help.
